Chemical Auditor

In this role you will provide Hazardous Substance and Dangerous Goods audits to clients relating to our business solutions both in Australia and occasionally overseas. In order to excel in this demanding role, you must be an effective communicator, client focussed, independent and resourceful. This role would require a significant amount of travel both within Australia and occasionally overseas.

Key Skills, Key Competencies & Attributes

Ensure chemical compliance by providing on-site Chemical audits regarding Hazardous Substances and Dangerous Goods in accordance with relevant National or State regulatory requirements, Standards, Codes of Practice.

·        This may include, but is not limited to assessments covering:

o   Storage& Handling

o   Transport

o   Safety Data Sheets & Labelling

o   Personal Protective Equipment

o   Placarding & Manifests

o   Risk Assessments

o   Emergency Response

o   Waste Disposal.

 

·        Compile ChemAlert Stock Management systems after completing an inventory of chemicals stored on site with corresponding locations of storage.

·        Ability to interpret data and documentation such as test results, safety data sheets (SDS), and quality records.

·        Report writing for scientific or regulatory audit reports.

·        Someone who can understand chemical processes, assess compliance, and communicate findings clearly

·        Able to work independently and use initiative while travelling or working away from direct supervision

·        Ability to work autonomously when travelling or conducting site visits.

·        Willingness to travel

·        Skilled, or experience in, report writing for scientific or regulatory audit reports

·        Client-focused problem solving

·        Strong planning and organisation

·        High attention to detail with a compliance mindset in identifying non-conformances or process risks.

·        Strong written and verbal communication skills — able to prepare clear audit reports and discuss findings professionally.

·        Team collaboration — working effectively with senior auditors, technical experts, and clients.

Experience

·        Experience in theprovision of audits or in a chemical safety related or HSE role.

·        Regulatory, scienceexposure

·        Knowledge of or understand, relevant standards and regulations (e.g. ISO 9001, ISO 14001, WHS, Dangerous Goods, or environmental legislation).

 

Qualifications & Requirements

Minimum Requirements: Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or similar; or Science degree or similar.

·        Proficiencyin Microsoft Office and audit management systems.

·        Validdriver’s licence (if travel is part of the role).
